Ever since I released CFQuickDocs (a lookup tool for ColdFusion tags and functions), the most requested feature has been to integrate your session with the web browser’s back/forward history. I have finally gotten this working. Now, when you view tags/functions and categories, you can move back and forward using the normal browser navigation buttons. I did this using Brad Neuberg’s Really Simple History, a cool library that does all the dirty work for you. I tested the new features with Firefox, IE 6 & 7, and Opera. It seems to work on all these browsers. I did not test with Safari, because RSH doesn’t work with Safari. Brad claims that it is impossible to get Safari to work with ajax history techniques. I don’t know if that’s true, but I really like his library so that’s what we’re stuck with.
