IE 7’s Select Boxes are better

One thing that I’ve always liked about Firefox is that if you are in a select box (filling out a form), if you type multiple letters, it will drop down to the correct word. For example, if there’s a list of states, and you need Wyoming, you can type ‘wy’ and it will skip Washington, West Virginia, etc. In Internet Explorer 6, this is not the case. Typing WY will just first go to the first ‘W’ in the list, and then it will look for a word that starts with ‘Y’. This is very annoying, especially use a lot of select boxes in your ColdFusion pages like we do at work. I tried tihs in IE 7 Beta 2, and it works like Firefox. :)If you’re curious what I’m talking about, here’s an example to play with:
