Apparently Microsoft thinks that not many of their Windows XP customers are installing service pack 2. When you visit microsoft.com today (I don’t know when they put it up), you get this:

And its a big chunk of the page too, I’d say about 50% of the visible page for lower resolutions.
When you click through, the top ten reasons are all security/privacy related except for number 10, which touts SP2’s improved wireless support. I think that is one of the first times I’ve seen Microsoft put something that doesn’t directly make them any money in such a prominent position.
