IE finally drops below 90%

According to a new survey performed by OneStat, Firefox and other alternative browsers continue to swipe chunks from Microsoft Internet Explorer’s market share, which is now down to 89%. The survey covered 2 million web surfers from 100 countries. According to OneStat’s numbers, IE has dropped 5% since May 2004. You may think, what’s a measly 5%? Well, when you consider that there are billions of people surfing the web every day, 5% is a LOT of people that are fleeing from the Microsoft dominated web in droves.
Microsoft responded that the survey doesn’t account for Corporate Intranets, which are still largely Microsoft monopolized. I agree, but I’m not as worried about those people as I am about the public web. I’ve got a web design background, and I hate one browser web sites.
