Solve math problem, get hired by Google

Google has posted a bilboard in Silicon Valley, California that contains a math problem. The result, followed by .com takes you to a different page that has an even harder math problem. If you can solve that one, Google wants to talk to you about a job. 🙂

Update: I wrote a bash script to solve the problem on their billboard, and my solution was correct. The page that came up has this (of course, I’m omitting the juicy details…I don’t want to give it away!):

I haven’t been able to figure out the second part they give yet. I thought I had it figured out, but my attempts to login don’t work. Their site mentions that accounts will be locked after 3 failed login attempts, and it can take up to a week to be unlocked. I’d hope that Google would have some kind of agreement with linux.org to allow people to keep trying, considering that there may be a lot of people putting wrong answers in. Anyway, I might have the correct answer to the second part, and it just won’t let me in. Or, Google may have stopped this ‘promotion’ already, and their linux.org account is gone. I’ll try again tomorrow.
